For Brian, a personal approach to building relationships with his clients, and a passion for making a difference in his client’s lives, is what being a professional advisor is really all about. His focus is on empowering his clients to work together multi-generationally, so that the family can work towards family unity, financial security and personal and family fulfillment. Brian is dedicated to helping clients articulate and pass on their core values, character, traditions, and work ethic to future generations, in addition to their wealth.

Brian is the founder of Capital Planning Group, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory firm. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Fund Specialist, Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and a Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow.

He earned a Masters Degree from Pepperdine University in Human Resources Management and his Bachelors Degree from Calvin College. Before his over two decade wealth management career, Brian was an Organization Development/Management Consultant and Corporate Trainer for 14 years with a large insurance company, a national retail chain and a national restaurant chain.

Brian is a native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where he grew up in a small town along the Canadian border. From his mid-Western roots he learned that trustworthiness and caring for others are very important. He brings these qualities to his life’s work of helping people achieve their dreams. Brian has been married to his wife, Louise, for over 32 years, and has one daughter, Krista, an aspiring author who shares Brian’s love of the outdoors. He is active in his daughters life and in his community. He has served as treasurer and on the board of his Lutheran Church, raises money for his college alumni association and supports several charities and schools. Brian enjoys the outdoors and is an avid sportsman. He also enjoys woodworking projects.
